Braves vs. Marlins: Braves Turn To Rookie Pitchers, Struggling Veteran In Critical Series

The Braves have struggled to play consistently the last few weeks. Will they get back on their feet this week in Florida?

Will this be the series the Braves wake up and start playing up to their abilities? After weeks of frustrating play, the team heads to Florida -- a place the team is 6-0 this season -- and looks to get back on track against an ailing Marlins team. If there wasn't any concern heading into this series, anything less than winning two out of the three games would cause for serious concern.

The organization's pitching depth will come into play big time this week; Mike Minor is set to begin the series and the team really needs a big start for the lefty. If he were to dominate and Derek Lowe -- who pitches Wednesday -- struggles yet again, there is a realistic possibility of Minor becoming the No. 3 starter should Atlanta make the playoffs. Once Minor takes his turn, Randall Delgado will look to continue his success on the mound in a game the team desperately needs as well.

The Braves need to win this series, and a sweep would go a long way in restoring confidence in fans all across the country. Let's get it done.

After an incredible few months throughout the summer, Dan Uggla has shown signs of slowing down the last few weeks. When he's hitting like he is capable of, Uggla can carry the team offensively by himself. That has not been the case the last three weeks, and it's time for the slugger to get going against the franchise that traded him away.
