Braves Vs. Dodgers Final Score: Atlanta Falls 2-1 In Extra Innings

The Atlanta Braves offense was stuck in neutral as all they could muster against the Dodgers on a busy Saturday night in Atlanta was a Dan Uggla solo home run in the second inning. Atlanta's pitching and defense was strong limiting the Dodgers to a single run for nine innings before the visitors were able to push across the game winning run in the tenth.

Anthony Varvaro took over on the mound for the Braves in the tenth inning and promptly served up a lead off double to Los Angeles shortstop Dee Gordon. The Dodgers then played some small ball with James Loney sacrificing Gordon over to third for the first out of the inning. After an intentional walk to Matt Kemp, Juan Rivera hit a sacrifice fly that scored Gordon and gave the Dodgers the lead for good.

Mike Macdougal picks up his second win for the Dodgers while Javy Guerra earns his 15 save of the season. Varvaro suffers his first loss of the season for the Braves. Mike Minor pitched well going six innings while allowing six hits including a second inning solo home run to A.J. Ellis. Minor struck out seven and only walked two.

Dan Uggla's homer was No. 32 on the season and gives the Atlanta second baseman 70 RBI's on the season. The Braves could only muster seven hits on the night against Dodgers pitching and were 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position.
