2012 Chick-fil-A Bowl picks and predictions

The experts believe LSU's defense will be able to slow down Tajh Boyd and the explosive Clemson offense in the 2012 Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta.

The LSU Tigers and Clemson Tigers do battle in the 2012 Chick-fil-A Bowl on Dec. 31 in a matchup between clashing styles. LSU boasts a typically stout SEC defense, while Clemson has a high-powered offensive attack led by dynamic quarterback Tajh Boyd.

While LSU did get blown out by Alabama in the BCS Championship Game last year, Les Miles does hold a rather successful 5-2 bowl record at the school. Most experts believe that success will continue.

The panel of SB Nation pundits have LSU, and Bill Connelly's F/+ projection also has LSU winning. CBS Sports' Jerry Palm likes LSU to win, but he thinks it will be a close game. Sports Illustrated's Stewart Mandel does not think LSU's offense is good enough for a blowout victory, but he believes their defense will manage to slow down Boyd and the explosive Clemson offense. Mandel has picked LSU to win, 31-17.
