On the receiving end of a fake punt pass and on the business end of a interception thrown by Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback AJ McCarron, Georgia Bulldogs cornerback Sanders Commings had quite the coming out party in the 2012 Championship Game.
And although Commings's breakout performance came in a loss, he knew that he would remember his title game for quite some time.
"I'm sure I'll remember how I played in this game, but I'll remember the loss more, more than anything," Commings told DogBytes Online.
Commings' reception was the first in the cornerback's career at Georgia. After the game, Commings' performance drew praise from around the coaching staff, who knew Commings had the potential to perform at the highest level.
"Sanders had a great game," defensive coordinator Todd Grantham told DogBytes. "He did an unbelievable job. ... I thought he played his most complete game since he's been here with me, and I'm really proud of his efforts."
