As the Atlanta Falcons keep winning, Atlanta television viewers continue to gain interest and are tuning in in greater numbers as the weeks progress.

The Falcons' latest victory -- over the Washington Redskins and quarterback Robert Griffin III -- drew a 25.4 rating in the Atlanta area, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. That number represents the share of television sets tuned to the game at the time. Each point is equal to about 23,300 homes in the Atlanta area, according to AJC.

For the season, the Falcons are drawing a 23.7 rating on average, which represents a 23 percent increase in viewership year over year. The average viewership rating translates to just more than a half a million homes in the Atlanta area tuned in to quarterback Matt Ryan and the Falcons.

For comparison, last Saturday's marquee college football meeting between the South Carolina Gamecocks and Georgia Bulldogs drew a 16.8 share in the Atlanta market, and was the second-most viewed sports program of the week.
