Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Jarvis Jones hasn't been ruled out for Saturday night's contest with the Kentucky Wildcats after making the trip with the team to Lexington, reports the Macon Telegraph and News. The star linebacker didn't practice all week while nursing an injury.
Dealing with a sprained ankle, Jones missed practice on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Head coach Mark Richt declined to give a prognosis on Wednesday, but also said the coaches weren't holding Jones out against a lesser opponent to keep him healthy for next week's looming game against the third-ranked Florida Gators.
Not counting the blowout win over Florida Atlantic, Jones has racked up 37 tackles and 5.5 sacks for the Bulldogs this season with an interception. He's projected to be a first-round NFL draft pick.
No. 13 Georgia is on the road to play Kentucky Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be televised by FOX Sports South.
