Joey Logano continues Nationwide Series domination with Kansas Lottery 300 Pole

Joey Logano has spent most of the 2012 season making a mockery of the NASCAR Nationwide Series, winning eight times in 18 starts. He'll have a prime view out the front of the windshield of his Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry as he begins his run for No. 9 later today.

Logano toured the Kansas Speedway in 29.52 seconds to grab the pole for the Kansas Lottery 300. It is his fifth pole of the 2012 campaign and the 21st of his career.

Austin Dillon will start second in Richard Childress's No. 3 Chevrolet Impala. Dillon enters the race 16 points back of teammate Elliott Sadler with four races remaining in the pursuit of the Nationwide Series title.

Logano's teammate Brian Scott will roll off third as he looks for his first Nationwide win, with beloved veteran Kenny Wallace in another Toyota starting fourth and Paul Menard fifth in the third Childress entry.

Kyle Busch starts sixth. The all-time series win leader has yet to visit victory lane in 2012 and is in danger of ending a streak that dates back to 2004 of winning at least one race each season. It has been a trying first season at times for Busch's self-owned effort, with the team's lone victory coming at Richmond with Kurt Busch behind the wheel.

Sadler, holding a 13-point edge on defending champ Ricky Stenhouse Jr., will roll off from the seventh position. The ex-Sprint Cup driver is leaving Childress's team at the end of the season, likely for Gibbs, and would become the first champ in series history to compete full-time the following season with a different team than his title-winning organization.

The top-10 was completed by Cole Whitt, Johanna Long, and Stenhouse. Missing the show was Josh Wise.
