Villanova Vs. Georgia State Score: Panthers 35-10 at the half

The Georgia State Panthers are going to need a big second half comeback if they hope to grab their second consecutive victory of the season. The Panthers trail Villanova 35-10 at halftime and once again struggled with special teams and also committed a costly turnover.

The Wildcats jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after a long drive on their opening possession. The lead grew to 14-0 after Poppy Livers returned a Georgia State punt 66-yards for a touchdown. John Robertson later connected with Norman White to extend the lead to 21-0 early in the second quarter.

Georgia State got on the board finally with a Will Lutz 32-yard field goal to cut the lead to 21-3. However, Villanova went back to work extending the lead to 35-3 with a 12-yard run from Kevin Monangai and a 32-yard interception return for a touchdown by Eric Loper. The Panthers finally punched in a touchdown late in the half as Travis Evans scampered nine yards to make the score 35-10.

Ben McLane completed 12-23 passes for 93 yards in the first half. Roosevelt Watson leads the Panthers with 11 yards rushing while leading rusher Donald Russell has been in check with just four yards on five carries in the first half.

John Robertson completed 6-9 passes for 88 yards and a touchdown. Robertson also ran for 81 yards in the first half. Monangai has 11 carries for 87 yards to lead the Wildcats on the ground.
