College Football Rankings, Week 9: Georgia Bulldogs move up to 12th in AP poll

Georgia barely escaped lowly Kentucky on Saturday, but the win preserved the Bulldogs' chances at the SEC east crown and moved them up one spot in the AP poll

Georgia's weekend didn't exactly go as planned - a five-point win over Kentucky was less than spectacular - but the Bulldogs kept themselves alive in the SEC east race and moved up one spot in the AP poll.

When Florida knocked off South Carolina in convincing fashion with a 44-11 win, the Gamecocks' dropped from the top ten to number 17 this week, bumping up the Bulldogs one spot.

After falling on their face last week against South Carolina, the Bulldogs didn't inspire a lot of confidence this week by barely escaping Kentucky, but now Georgia will travel to Jacksonville this weekend to face Florida in the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail party, where the stakes will be as high as ever.

If the Gators pull off the win, they book themselves a ticket to Atlanta for the SEC championship, but with a win, the Bulldogs could upset all of Florida's designs on a national title and set up a battle down the stretch for the division crown.
