The Georgia Bulldogs still appear to be the front-runners for in-state recruit Alvin Kamara, a 5'10, 195-pound running back from Norcross. Kamara is considered to be a 4-star recruit, with Alabama and Georgia being listed as his preferred destinations for 2013.
Nick Saban and the Alabama coaching staff are still pursuing Kamara despite having received a commitment from Derrick Henry (Yulee, Fla./Yulee). This is Saban flexing his muscle and showing that with the program he's running at Alabama, two marquee running backs could work. The Crimson Tide did it before with Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson.
Kamara is considered to be a great all-purpose back as a recruit, and his hands, body control and quickness add to his appeal.
Alabama offensive coordinator Kirby Smart told Kamara earlier in the month that the Crimson Tide still want him as bad as they did before the commitment from Henry. And Kamara seemed to be enamored by 'Bama's success.
Still, the Dawgs have the home advantage and may be able to convince him of more opportunities to touch the ball at UGA.
