As the sun rose on Monday morning one thing remained just as it did last week, and the six weeks prior-- the Atlanta Falcons remain undefeated. Despite facing their biggest test of the season, against a dangerous Philadelphia, Mike Smith's squad yet again proved they're the NFL's best team. The question remains: When will they get credit for it?
If you're one to look at weekly power rankings as a Falcons' fan, you're probably furious at the lack of credit Matt Ryan's team get from pundits. Each week they've been surrounded by the charge they're not as good as advertised, and beneffiting from a weak schedule. A win over Philadelphia was vital in ensuring the Falcons are regarded as the best team in the NFL, and beating them by a score of 30-17, it may has just been enough to start convincing analysts that the Falcons are for real.
Any talk about the Atlanta Falcons has to include Matt Ryan, who has been absolutely stunning this season. Now sitting with over 2,000 passing yards, and on pace for the most of his career-- Ryan is also pegged to finish the season with 39 touchdowns and just 14 interceptions.
With seven straight wins, and overcoming the vaunted 'Andy Reid doesn't lose after a bye' charge, the Atlanta Falcons are the best team in the NFL-- and it may not be close. Now we wait to see how long it is before the rest of the football world realizes the same.
