The 2012-13 NBA regular season begins on Tuesday night, and both the Los Angeles Lakers and defending champion Miami Heat will be in action. The Heat host the Boston Celtics, while the Lakers host the Dallas Mavericks; both of those games will air on TNT. Washington and Cleveland also play on Tuesday.

The Atlanta Hawks don't open up their season until Friday, when they host the Houston Rockets.
