Falcons' 5-0 start has ticket prices on the rise

The Atlanta Falcons 5-0 start has the demand for home tickets on the rise.

The Atlanta Falcons home tickets have seen a price boost of 36% more than last year's. It's not much of a surprise, either, considering Atlanta's hot start after making it to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons. The Falcons aren't just a hot team on a roll; they're 5-0 and literally running away with the NFC South. In fact, the closest team to them in their division is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who sit in second place at 1-3.

Equally impressive about Atlanta's hot start is that they've done it with just two home games so far this year. However, with a third home game against the hapless Oakland Raiders in week six, they are looking at their undefeated run extending to six straight wins to start the 2012 season.

One would think a matchup with a mediocre opponent like Oakland would have Falcons' home tickets take a dip, but on the contrary, the Raiders game is seeing a 23% increase from what home games were selling for at the beginning of the year. But as Falcons' fans have seen first hand, that has everything to do with the elite product the franchise is putting on the field, as well as the fact that they simply keep on winning and should win again in week six.

The Falcons hot start and success at home has helped see their season ticket prices jump in 2012 and this can be attributed their balanced excellence. We already knew they were stacked on offense with Matt Ryan leading an explosive receiving corps including dangerous weapons like Julio Jones, Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez, but Falcons fans have also been introduced to a solid defense that has given up more than 20 points just twice all year. Another huge aspect of home game spikes is the fact that Atlanta doesn't lose at home very often. Quarterback Matt Ryan has led the Falcons to a remarkable 25-4 record at the Georgia Dome during his career.
