Georgia Tech Vs. North Carolina Score: Yellow Jackets separate from UNC in 3rd

The third quarter picked up right where the first half left off as both the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and North Carolina Tar Heels scored touchdowns within the first minute of play.

For Georgia Tech, Jamal Golden returned the second half kickoff for 100 yards. The score broke a streak of eight consecutive rushing touchdowns, giving the Yellow Jackets the 34-29 lead after the failed 2-point conversion.

After receiving the ball, it took UNC one play to surge back ahead as quarterback Brynn Renner connected with Giovani Bernard for a 78-yard touchdown. Bernard bounced off tackles in the open field after making the catch, recording the first passing touchdown of the game.

Once again, the Georgia Tech offense was met with little resistance on the ensuing drive as the Yellow Jackets regained the lead on Robert Godhigh's 4-yard rushing score. They then got the ball back in UNC territory after intercepting Renner, leading to a 35-yard field goal by Chris Tanner.

Godhigh continued his impressive play, scoring on a 27-yard run and a 32-yard reception to help the Yellow Jackets separate from the Tar Heels and take a 58-36 lead.

UNC closed the gap at the end of the quarter on Renner's 11-yard touchdown pass to Quinshad Davis.
