Two perennial tournament teams with a pair of hall of fame coaches clash to open the 2012-13 season on Sunday when No. 10 Georgia hosts Rutgers at Stegeman Coliseum. Andy Landers' squad returns four starters from last season's team including leading scorer Jasmine Hassell. Rutgers returns three starters off last season's team that finished 22-10. All told, Landers and Rutgers coach C. Vivian Stringer have over 1,700 combined wins as head coaches. Georgia holds an 8-3 edge in the series all time and has won 10 of its last 11 season openers.
Tennessee Vs. Georgia Tech - 2 p.m. - ESPN3
No. 22 Georgia Tech hosts No. 20 Tennessee on Sunday in the first women's game to be played at the brand new McCamish Pavilion. The Yellow Jackets are coming off their best season in school history and a birth in last season's sweet sixteen. The Yellow Jackets return Tyaunna Marshall who was a preseason All-ACC selection and is on the Preseason Wooden Top 30 watch list. Tennessee comes in ranked No. 16 and was stunned by Chattanooga 80-71 in Holly Warlick's debut as head coach.
