The BCS rankings reflecting yet another riveting week in college football were released Sunday evening and for the first time this season, the Alabama Crimson Tide were released off of their stranglehold on the No. 1 ranking after the team lost their first game of the season on Saturday.
Even though Alabama lost on Saturday, the team remained inside the top 5 in the BCS rankings, falling to just No. 4 in the nation. The three teams benefiting from Alabama's loss was Kansas State, Oregon and Notre Dame -- all three of which won on Saturday.
The Georgia Bulldogs remained as the No. 5 team in the nation with their dominating win on Saturday over Auburn. A pair of other SEC teams in Florida and LSU remained with the same ranking.
Perhaps the biggest beneficiaries from Alabama's loss was the team that beat them Texas A&M. Entering Saturday's game as the No. 15 team in the nation, Texas A&M now finds themselves inside the top 10 at No. 8.
