Wide receiver Julio Jones was one of four Atlanta players to miss Wednesday's practice, according to the team's injury report. Jones left Sunday's loss to the Saints with a leg injury and was listed with an ankle injury on the Wednesday report. Falcons coach Mike Smith sounded cautious when discussing his decision to hold Jones out of practice.

"We wanted to keep Julio off his feet," Smith told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Julio will be evaluated tomorrow and we will determine how much work he’ll do."

Linebacker Sean Weatherspoon (ankle), wide receiver Kevin Cone (groin) and safety Charles Mitchell (calf) also sat out practice. Weatherspoon, who's missed the last two games, appeared closer to returning. He worked out with the training staff Wednesday.

In addition, seven Falcons were limited in Wednesday's practice, including tight end Tony Gonzales. Smith did not sound worried, however.

"The majority of those guys that were limited participation, will be full participation tomorrow," he said. "We want to get some of these guys some rest. They have some bumps and bruises. That’s why we had a much longer list today."
