Markeith Cummings led all scorers with 22 points, but the Kennesaw St. Owls lost to the Eastern Kentucky Colonels, 85-71, Friday night at Alumni Coliseum in Richmond, Ky.
Cummings hit 8 of 12 shots for the Owls (1-2), including 1 of 2 from behind the three-point line. The senior guard pulled down six rebounds and added a block and a steal. Myles Hamilton had 14 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals, and Delbert Love filled up the stat sheet with 12 points, eight rebounds five assists and two steals.
Glenn Cosey led the Colonels (2-0) in scoring with 21 points on 6 of 11 shooting. Cosey also had four assists, four steals and three rebounds. Three other players scored in double-figures for Eastern Kentucky: Eric Stutz and Corey Walden chipped in 12 points, and Deverin Muff scored 10.
