Five players scored in double-figures for Georgia Southern and the team cruised to a 87-64 win over Webber International Friday at WS Hanner Fieldhouse in Statesboro, Ga.
Forward Eric Ferguson led the way for Georgia Southern (1-2), scoring 17 points and adding eight rebounds, four steals, two assists and two blocks. Cleon Roberts scored 13 points and contributed three three-pointers, two rebounds and two steals for the Eagles. Tre Bussey and Marvin Baynham each scored 12 points, and C.J. Reed chipped in 10.
Brian Pace scored 16 points to lead the Warriors (2-3). Pace also had four steals, three rebounds and two assists, but he fouled out of the game. Michael Bonilla was the only other Webber player to reach double-figures, scoring 13 points.
Next up for Georgia Southern is a trip to Kennesaw State to take on the Owls on Wednesday. Tipoff from Convocation Center is set for 7 p.m. ET.
