Georgia Tech hosts Duke on Saturday at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta. The Yellow Jackets are trying to keep pace in the ACC Coastal Division race.
Georgia Tech (5-5, 4-3 ACC) enters the game tied atop the division with Miami, but the Hurricanes hold the head-to-head tiebreaker between the two teams thanks to a 42-36 win on Sept. 22. The Yellow Jackets need to beat Duke (6-4, 3-3) and have the Blue Devils beat Miami next week to earn a spot in the ACC Championship Game. Should Duke win its next two games, the Blue Devils will advance to the title game.
The Yellow Jackets are coming off a wild 68-50 victory over North Carolina. Against the Tar Heels, Georgia Tech rolled up 588 yards, 380 of which were on the ground, and 28 first downs. Quarterback Vad Lee picked up 112 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries, and he completed 6 of 10 passes for 169 yards, a touchdown and an interception. However, the Yellow Jacket defense gave up more than 40 points for the fifth time this season.
After starting the season 5-1, the Blue Devils have lost three of four. Last week, Duke suffered a 56-20 bludgeoning at the hands of Clemson. During the current skid, the Blue Devil defense is allowing 43.8 points per game.
