Cardinals vs. Falcons: Roddy White 'excited' about strong showing from Atlanta defense

A unit that allowed just six points combined in the final three quarters against the Cardinals gets some admiration from the Falcons wideout.

The Atlanta Falcons came out against the Arizona Cardinals struggling to put together drives and would struggle all day on offense, leaving Roddy White, among many other contributors on offense, singing the praises of the Falcons' defense after the game.

"We just started off flat on offense and sometimes that happens in the National Football League," White told reporters after the 23-19 victory. "I am so excited about our defense and the performance they had today. They were the main reason we won."

White was among the more productive Falcons on the day, hauling in eight passes for 123 yards from quarterback Matt Ryan, who threw five interceptions on the day. Ryan did finish with 301 yards against the Cardinals defense, but his five interceptions certainly had some eyes raised in Atlanta.

The Falcons defense was able to hold Arizona to just two field goals after the Cardinals scored 13 in the first quarter, setting the stage for the Falcons' comeback.
