2012 bowl projections: Bulldogs, Yellow Jackets pegged for late non-BCS bowls

SB Nation's latest projected bowl picture has Georgia headed to the Capital One Bowl and Georgia Tech headed to the Music City Bowl.

Despite a No. 3 ranking in the latest BCS rankings, the Georgia Bulldogs are on the outside looking in at the BCS bowl picture, according to the latest bowl projections at SB Nation.

Jason Kirk's latest slate of projections lands the Bulldogs in the Capital One Bowl, readying for a showdown with the Big Ten's Michigan Wolverines.

The Bulldogs, despite their favorable BCS ranking, miss out on the BCS because of the system's strict rule against no more than two teams from each conference getting bids to any of the five BCS bowls. The projections have the Alabama Crimson Tide in the BCS title game and the Texas A&M Aggies in the Sugar Bowl.

The projections look favorably on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, which are pegged for the Music City Bowl to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores. The Music City Bowl has the sixth pick of ACC squads and the seventh pick of SEC teams.
