Savannah State vs. Georgia Final Score: Andy Landers captures win No. 800

The Georgia Lady Dogs improved to 5-0 on the season and gave head coach Andy Landers the 800th victory of his career with a 94-57 win over Savannah State.

Jasmine James scored 18 points as the Lady Dogs improved to 5-0 on the season with a 94-57 win over Savannah State. The win gave Georgia head coach Andy Landers the 800th of his career. Landers becomes just the seventh D1 women's coach to reach that plateau.

Knowing that the milestone was within reach, the Lady Dogs took control of the game early jumping out to a 27-11 lead with 10 minutes to go in the first half. They continued to pour it on the Tigers when a 16-2 spurt made the score 37-13. Georgia's defense helped fuel their offense as they forced Savannah State into 25 turnovers on the night.

In addition to James, Tiara Griffin set a career high with 15 points. Jasmine Hassell added 14 points and seven rebounds. Andrietta Thomas led Savannah State with 22 points.

Landers was presented with a framed team jersey with the No. 800 on it in a ceremony following the game. in 34 seasons with the Lady Dogs, Landers has amassed an all-time career record of 800-268.
