The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have had an excellent season in 2012, and it could put them in a envious bowl spot, such as the Chik-fil-A Bowl.
According to the bowl's official site, Georgia Tech is on the short list to be one of the two teams playing in Atlanta's premier bowl game.
The contest will pit one team from the ACC and one from the SEC, almost guaranteeing a match-up between two top southern teams. Other teams listed as potential choices from the ACC include the Clemson Tigers, Florida State Seminoles and North Carolina State Wolfpack.
Over in the SEC, the choices include the LSU Tigers, South Carolina Gamecocks and Mississippi State Bulldogs. The SEC champion won't be eligible for the Chik-fil-A Bowl, as it will certainly be playing in the BCS Championship Game in Miami.
Saturday's action will play a major role in deciding who gets the invites, with many of the teams playing against elite competition.
