East Carolina vs. Georgia State final score: Panthers fall to Pirates, 62-53

Georgia State came up short against East Carolina on Monday night.

Manny Atkins scored 15 points, but Georgia State fell to East Carolina, 62-53, at the GSU Sports Arena in Atlanta Monday night.

Atkins was 5-of-11 from the field, and he made two of his four three-point attempts. Devonta White was the only other player to score in double figures for the Panthers (3-3), as he chipped in 13 points on 4-of-14 shooting. R.J. Hunter and T.J. Shipes added seven and six points, respectively .

East Caroina (5-0) was led by Maurice Kemp, who scored 16 points and connected on eight of his 10 foul shots. Robert Sampson had 12 points, and Shamarr Bowden contributed 10.

The Panthers had a rough night shooting the ball, making 38.0 percent of their shots from the floor, 22.2 percent from three and 61.1 percent from the foul line. The Pirates weren't much better, hitting 36.4 percent from the floor, 29.2 percent from behind the arc and 75.0 percent from the free throw line.

Next up for Georgia State is a home game against Louisiana Tech on Friday, Nov. 30. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
