Atlanta Falcons center Todd McClure has played superbly for the undefeated Falcons this season, and right tackle Tyson Clabo has been leading the charge for McClure to be honored with a Pro Bowl slot.
Clabo tweeted out a picture to more than 2,700 followers of a McClure campaign poster. The tackle told Atlanta Journal-Constitution writer D. Orlando Ledbetter that McClure is "one of the better centers in the league, and I think that it's a joke that he's never been to the Pro Bowl. It's just time. We are having a great year, and I think he deserves it."
McClure is in his 14th NFL season, and all have been with the Falcons. Atlanta picked the former LSU Tiger in the seventh round of the 1999 NFL Draft, and McClure has started at center for the Birds since 2000. McClure, Clabo and the rest of the Atlanta offensive line have helped keep quarterback Matt Ryan upright this season; the Falcons have given up just 18 sacks in their first eight games.
