The Tennessee Volunteers opened their season with a win, posting a dominant win over the Kennesaw St. Owls , 76-67. Aaron Anderson and Delbert Love tied to lead the Owls in scoring, each with 16 points.
Tennsee was up by 12 at halftime, and the game was never in question in the second half. Kennesaw State shot 46.2 percent, including 31.3 percent on three-pointers and 14 for 25 on free throws. They did manage to outdo the Vols in points off turnovers, picking up 21 to Tennessee's 17.
Jordan McRae and Skylar McBee were the leading scorers for the Vols. McRae put up 14 points with four rebounds and two assists, and McBee added another 14 with one rebound. Combined, the Vols shot 60.5 percent and dominated in the paint, adding 38 points. The team had 22 personal fouls on the night.
The Volunteers next face the UNC-Asheville Bulldogs, while the Owls will take on the South Carolina State Bulldogs.
