Detroit Lions safety Louis Delmas (knee) and tight end Brandon Pettigrew (ankle) missed practice on Wednesday, according to the team's injury report. The status for both players remains on unclear for this weekend's game against the Atlanta Falcons. In addition, it appears that the Lions have placed defensive tackle Nick Fairley on injured reserve.
Pettigrew's ankle injury occurred during the team's game against Green Bay two weeks ago. He was inactive during last week's game against Arizona, and his absence hurt an already struggling passing game. Pettigrew has 57 receptions and three touchdowns for the Lions this season.
Fairley suffered a shoulder injury near the end of the Green Bay game. He was 13th overall pick in the 2011 draft, and he had recorded 34 tackles and 5 1/2 sacks for Detroit in 2012.
The Lions host Atlanta at 8:30 PM EST on Saturday night. Atlanta could clinch home-field advantage in the NFC playoffs with a win.
