Atlanta Falcons safety Chris Hope and wide receiver Roddy White were fined by the NFL on Friday, according to Michael Cunningham of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Hope was fined $30,000 for a helmet-to-helmet hit on New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz last Sunday. Earlier in the week, Hope told the AJC's D. Orlando Ledbetter that there was "probably going be a fine" headed his way, so Friday's news wasn't much of that at all to the 11-year veteran.
Meanwhile, White's wallet will be $7,875 lighter after being penalized for having a minor dust-up with Giants cornerback Corey Webster. Webster was fined the same amount by the league on Friday for his role in the incident.
Of course, all of this may be a small price to pay for the Falcons, who improved to 12-2 on the season with their 34-0 rout over the Giants. This week, they'll look to continue their momentum against the Detroit Lions at 8:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
