Georgia's 80-38 victory over Mercer Tuesday night sent the No. 6 Lady Bulldogs into their exam break with a perfect 10-0 record. Georgia was 9-15 from three-point land against Mercer. Lady Bulldogs coach Andy Landers praised his players after the victory.
"I like what I see so far, absolutely," Landers told the Athens Banner-Herald. "I think we’ve grown. I think we’ve matured. I think we’ve gained some confidence. I think two of our seniors have just blossomed, and by the end of the year they can be full-blown.
Landers had particular praise for Jasmine Hassell and Jasmine James. Each of those seniors notched 12 points against Mercer.
"I think (Jasmine) Hassell and J.J. (Jasmine James) are really on a roll," Landers said. "I don’t mean just the way that they’re playing, but the energy and the enthusiasm that they’re playing with. That’s exactly what you hope for and for seniors especially."
The Lady Bulldogs have an 11-day break and will next face Lipscomb on December 16.
