Georgia further separated itself from the SEC cellar with its upset win over Florida on Saturday. That puts the Bulldogs two full games in front of last place South Carolina. Georgia is currently in a tie with Auburn but the Tigers own the tiebreaker.
The merits for hanging onto the No. 11 seed are a potential first-round matchup with the No. 6 seed in the SEC tournament. Currently that would be a matchup against LSU whom the Bulldogs lost to 61-53 earlier this week. If Georgia could somehow survive the first round of the tournament then they would face Vanderbilt in the next round.
