The NIT tournament gets underway Tuesday and the Region 2 No. 8-seed Savannah State Tigers (21-11) have the No.1-seed Tennessee Volunteers (18-14) on their schedule.
This marks the first time these two programs play each other in basketball. The Tigers enter the game as the regular-season Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference champions and winners of 13 straight games at the end of the regular season before losing in the conference tournament.
The winner of Tuesday's game will face the winner of the Middle Tennessee and Marshall contest. Here is a look at the NIT schedule and bracket:
