Furman Bisher Dead At Age 93

Furman Bisher, seemingly eternal Atlanta Journal-Constitution columnist, has died at the age of 93. He stepped down from the paper in 2009, but kept writing up through January of this year at his personal blog.

With the passing of Ernie Johnson, Larry Munson, and now Bisher, Atlanta sports media has lost just about all of its classic defining voices in the past year.

Bisher's work was among the very first things I ever read. Pretty sure I was a third generation reader of his. He was very pleasant to me when I met him at a Georgia Tech game after he'd retired.
