MEAC Tournament 2012: Day One Schedule, Bracket And More

Who will Savannah State play after Day One of the MEAC tournament?

The first round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament gets underway Tuesday at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, NC, with Savannah State going in as the top seed after winning the regular season title.

But the Tigers don't play on Tuesday, rather No. 8-9 match-up between Hampton and Morgan State starts the action off at 11 a.m. EST, then No.7 North Carolina A&T against tenth-ranked Howard at 1:30 p.m. Fifth-seeded North Carolina Eastern goes head-to-head with No. 12 seed-Maryland Eastern Shore at 4 p.m.

Bethune-Cookman and South Carolina State face off in the No. 4-13 game at 6:30 p.m., while Coppin State and Florida A&M end the night's action with the No.6-11 match-up at 9 p.m.

Savannah State plays the winner between Hampton and Morgan State on Wednesday at 6 p.m. EST. The Tigers won their games against both teams in the regular season, with a 65-49 win over Hampton on Dec. 1 and a 57-55 victory against Morgan State on Jan. 9.
