The Georgia Bulldogs baseball team has won four of its last five games and will take on the Furman Paladins on Tuesday at Foley Field. The Bulldogs knocked off Liberty 5-3 on Monday to improve to 23-14 on the season. Georgia will enjoy a couple of off days after Tuesday's game before opening a key series with the Florida Gators in Gainesville on Friday.
The Bulldogs will be playing their sixth game in seven days on Tuesday and were able to get some regulars some rest on Monday against Liberty.
"We're in good shape as far as holding up with all these games in a row," said Georgia coach David Perno. "We got some guys some rest today, and we'll probably get a few more Tuesday. It's great to see some of the young guys like Nelson Ward with three hits and Justin Bryan with a home run take advantage of some playing time. We started off a little sluggish but came back and that's something we've been able to do here lately. Bryan Benzor was sharp, and everybody threw strikes today."
Georgia will send freshman David Sosebee to the mound. Sosebee is 2-0 with a 5.79 ERA in seven appearances this season. He will be opposed by Furman freshman Elliott Warford who is 2-0 with a 3.46 ERA and has seven saves this season.
Game Date/time: Tuesday, April 17, 6:00 p.m. ET
Location: Foley Field, Athens, Georgia
