Georgia Tech scored four times in the first inning and made it stand up as they defeated Georgia State by a score of 8-4 at Russ Chandler Stadium.
Paul Kronenfeld's two RBI single in the first was the big hit in the Yellow Jackets four-run rally. Georgia State added single runs in the second and third before Tech pushed the lead back out with a single run in the fifth and three more in the sixth to make the score 8-2. The Panthers cut the lead to 8-4 in the eighth but couldn't get any closer as the Yellow Jackets closed out the victory.
Dusty Isaacs gets the win and improves to 5-1 after allowing two hits and a run in his two innings of work. Josh Heddinger worked 5.1 innings in relief allowing five hits and two earned runs while striking out six. Tyler Claburn falls to 3-1 on the season after allowing six hits and four runs in his four innings of work.
Georgia Tech is back in action on Friday when they open a three-game set with North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
