2012 College Baseball: Georgia Heads To Gainesville For Three-Game Set With Gators

Georgia opens a key three-game SEC series Friday night in Gainesville against top-ranked Florida.

The Georgia baseball team took advantage of a couple of days off after a five games in six days stretch and are now set to open a three-game SEC set with the top-ranked Florida Gators in Gainesville. The Bulldogs come into the series with a 23-15 record and a 7-8 mark in conference play.

Georgia has won four of its last six games including an SEC series win over the Ole Miss Rebels. The Bulldogs dropped a 5-4 contest to Furman on Tuesday. Alex Wood (5-1, 2.64 ERA) will get the start in the series opener and will be followed by Michael Palazzone (1-5, 5.81 ERA) on Saturday. Sunday's starter has not been announced by head coach David Perno.

Florida has won four of its last five games and took two out of three from Tennessee last weekend. The Gators knocked off Georgia Southern 8-2 on Tuesday.
