Georgia Tech Vs. North Carolina Final Score: Yellow Jackets Roll To 11-4 Win In Game 1

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets grabbed a big ACC win over No. 6 North Carolina Friday night cruising to a 11-4 victory behind a good performance from starting pitcher Buck Farmer.

Farmer allowed six hits and two runs over seven strong innings to pick up his sixth win of the season. The Yellow Jackets pounded out 13 hits in the game and got a career-high four RBIs from second baseman Thomas Smith.

The Yellow Jackets took a 2-0 lead in the second inning with RBI hits from Matt Hyde and Kyle Wren. They extended the lead to 4-0 in the third with a two-run double off the bat of Smith. North Carolina cut into the lead in the fifth inning scratching across a couple of runs to cut Tech's advantage to 4-2.

Tech blew the game open in the seventh thanks to three errors from the Tar Heels that led to three more runs for the Yellow Jackets to make the score 7-2. Tech tacked on four more runs on in the eighth as they pounded out five more hits and cruised to the 11-4 win.
