2012 College Baseball: Georgia Tech Defeats Georgia 4-3 At Turner Field

Georgia Tech earns a split in their season series against Georgia with 4-3 win over the Bulldogs Tuesday night at Turner Field. The Yellow Jackets rallied with two outs in the ninth as Kyle Wren doubled home the winning run to secure the victory.

Georgia took a 1-0 lead in the first as Conor Welton scored on a Kyle Farmer ground out to put the Bulldogs in front. Georgia Tech tied the score in the third but Georgia retook the lead in the fifth with an RBI single by Nelson Ward. The Yellow Jackets took their first lead of the game in the seventh with a Mott Hyde two-run home run that made the score 3-2. Georgia tied things back up in the bottom half of the frame with another RBI groundout. That set the stage for Wren's heroics in the ninth.

Alex Cruz picks up the win for Georgia Tech after allowing one run over three innings of work. Bryan Benzor gets tagged with the loss after allowing one run in 1.2 innings of work for Georgia.
