Top seeded North Carolina advances to the semifinals of the 2012 ACC Softball Tournament with a 10-4 win over Boston College.
The Tar Heels fell behind 1-0 in the first inning but scored seven unanswered runs over the next two innings to take control of the game. The Eagles scored one in the fourth and two more in the fifth to cut the lead to 7-4 but North Carolina tacked on three insurance runs in the sixth to cruise home to the victory.
Kelli Wheeler, Ally Blake and Jordan Scarboro drove in three runs each for Carolina. Lori Spingola picked up her 31st win of the season pitching a complete game and allowing seven hits and four runs.
Chelsea LoBue drove in two for Boston College. Morgan Kidd takes the loss for the Eagles after allowing three hits and four runs in two innings of work.
