Georgia Tech has won seven of its last nine games and opens an important series with Virginia on Friday night at Davenport Field in Charlottesville. With two weeks remaining in the regular season the Yellow Jackets are clinging to one of the final two spots in the ACC Conference Tournament.
Tech will send Buck Farmer (7-3, 3.20 ERA) to the mound on Friday night in the series opener. Jake Davies (0-1, 3.45 ERA) is expected to follow on Saturday with Cole Pitts (4-4, 4.60 ERA) going in the series finale on Sunday.
The top eight teams advance to the conference tournament and Georgia Tech enters play this weekend with a 10-14 conference record and tied with Virginia Tech for seventh place.
