SEC Baseball Tournament 2012: Florida Outlasts Tennessee 2-1 In Extra Innings

The Florida Gators captured a 2-1 win over the Tennessee Volunteers in eight innings to advance to the finals of the 2012 SEC Softball Tournament.

Freshman Bailey Castro provided the winning margin with her sixth home run of the season in the top of the eighth inning. Lauren Haeger pitched a scoreless bottom half securing the win for the Gators.

Tennessee took a 1-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a Florida error. The Gators tied things up in the third inning on an RBI single by Cheyenne Coyle. The score would remain tied until Castro's blast in the eighth broke the tie. Florida freshman Sami Fagan tied an SEC Tournament record by going 4 for 4 at the plate.

Florida's Hannah Rogers earns her 27th win of the season pitching seven innings while allowing four hits and one unearned run. Haeger earned her second save of the season with a perfect inning in the eighth. Tennessee's Ivy Renfroe takes the loss after pitching 7.1 innings and allowing six hits and two runs.
