Mercer scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth and held on for the 4-3 win over Georgia Tech on Tuesday night.
Josh Heddinger gave up two earned runs over five innings. Dusty Issacs gave up two runs (one earned) over 1/3 of an inning. At the plate, Kyle Wren went 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Jake Davies went 1-for-4 with an RBI and Daniel Palka went 0-for-3 with an RBI.
The Yellow Jackets won the previous meeting against Mercer this season. Tuesday's loss snapped an eight-game winning streak against non-conference opponents. Georgia Tech finished the season 20-6 against non-conference opponents in the regular season. The Yellow Jackets will finish the regular season with three games against Miami at home this weekend.
