Miami Vs. Georgia Tech, Game 1: Hurricanes Rally For Late 5-4 Win Over Yellow Jackets

Georgia Tech allowed three runs in the top of the ninth as Miami rallied for a late comeback win over the Yellow Jackets on Thursday night, hurting Georgia Tech's hopes of making the ACC Tournament.

Buck Farmer got the start for Georgia Tech and gave up just one earned run over six innings, leaving with the Yellow Jackets leading 4-1. But in the eighth inning, Jarrett Didrick gave up one run as Miami cut the deficit to two. In the ninth, Alex Cruz gave up three earned runs as Miami took its first lead of the game.

Brandon Thomas led Tech at the plate, going 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored. Evan Martin went 2-for-3 with a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored. The teams will continue the series at 7 p.m. on Friday.
