2012 Women's College World Series: South Alabama Defeats Georgia Tech 4-3

Georgia Tech had a 3-2 lead heading into the top of the seventh inning, but South Alabama was able to score two runs to go up 4-3 and win the first game of the Tuscaloosa region. South Alabama took the lead for the final time when Kaitlyn Griffith hit a triple in the top of the seventh which scored the tying run, and then scored the game winne on an error by Georgia Tech left fielder Kate Kuzma.

In the bottom of the seventh Georgia Tech was unable to get anything going as starting pitcher Hannah Campbell allowed no hits and had pitched a complete game. Cambpell had a decent outing by holding Georgia Tech to nine hits and three runs which was enough to earn her 24th victory of the season.

With the loss Georgia Tech will now play the loser between Alabama and Tennessee-Martin on Saturday at 5 p.m.
