The Georgia Bulldogs fell to the Alabama Crimson Tide 4-0 and the two teams have now split the first two games of their three-game series. Alabama's Jon Keller earned the win by pitching seven innings, gave up only five hits and struck out six batters. Freshman Jake Hubbard came into pitch the final two innings and completed the shut out and struck out two batters.
The Georgia offense never got anything going with their bats and only had five hits on the night, and those five hits came from three different batters.
Alabama scored their four runs in the third and fourth innings off of Michael Palazzone. Over all, Palazzone pitched fairly well by going eight innings by striking out six and allowing four runs, but we gave up 10 hits and walked one.
Center fielder Taylor Dugas and left fielder Hunter Gregory led led the way offensively for Alabama. Dugas had a big game for Alabama by going 2-for-4 with a run, two RBI, a stolen base and a triple while Gregory went 2-for-3, two RBI and a run.
The final game of the series is Saturday at 2:05 p.m.
