Women's College World Series 2012: Alabama Defeats UT Martin 5-1

The Alabama Crimson Tide open play in the Tuscaloosa Regional with a 5-1 win over UT Martin at Rhoads Stadium. Alabama advances to play South Alabama who scored an upset win over Georgia Tech on Saturday.

Jennifer Fenton finished with three hits for the Crimson Tide while Cassie Reilly Boccia and Danae Hays finished with two hits each. Alabama banged out 11 hits total.

The Tide got off to a quick start plating three runs in the first inning. Hays hit her fifth home run of the season in the second to extend the lead to 4-0. UT Martin would cut into the lead with a home run of its own but Alabama would answer back with an RBI single from Fenton.

Amanda Locke earns her second straight victory of the season and improves her record to 5-1. She allowed one run on three hits while throwing a complete game seven innings.
