Miami Vs. Georgia Tech Final Score: Yellow Jackets Suffer 8-6 Loss

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets suffered another close loss to the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday losing 8-6 and falling into a tie for the final spot in the ACC Tournament.

Both teams started where they left off on Friday scoring three runs each in the first inning. Miami took a 7-3 edge in the fourth but Tech trimmed the lead to 7-6 in the fifth on RBI singles by Daniel Palka and Mott Hyde. Miami added an insurance run in the seventh and then held on for the victory.

Jake Davies had three hits for the Yellow Jackets while Zane Evans, Sam Dove and Daniel Palka all finished with two each. Evans and Davies finished with two RBIs each. Chantz Mack and Michael Broad had three hits each for the Hurricanes and combined to drive in five runs.

Davies takes the loss after allowing six runs in just three innings of work. Javi Salas picks up the win for the Hurricanes while AJ Salcines gets credited with the save.

The Yellow Jackets are tied with Virginia Tech but hold the tie breaker over the Hokies. Therefore Tech controls its own destiny on Sunday and clinch the tournament birth with a win over the Hurricanes. A loss by the Hokies against Clemson on Saturday would also send the Yellow Jackets to the tournament.
