Georgia Tech Vs. Miami Baseball Recap: Yellow Jackets' Home Runs Lead To 2-1 Win

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets kept their ACC tournament hopes alive with a 2-1 victory against the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday. Now all the Yellow Jackets need is for Virginia Tech to do its part by losing to No. 7 North Carolina for Georgia Tech to claim a one-game lead over Virginia Tech for the eighth and final spot in the conference tournament.

Miami struck first in Saturday's game when in the top of the second inning designated hitter Michael Broad hit an RBI double to put the Canes up 1-0. But in the bottom half of that same inning, Georgia Tech first baseman Jake Davies led off with a solo home run off Miami pitcher Eric Whaley to tie it all up at one run apiece.

After a few scoreless innings, right fielder Daniel Palka homered to right field to give the Yellow Jackets their defining 2-1 lead.

Virginia Tech trailed North Carolina 2-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning.
