2012 Women's College World Series: Georgia Tech Defeats Tennessee-Martin 9-1

Georgia Tech staved off elimination by defeating Tennessee-Martin 9-1, and they scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to secure the win. Hope Rush pitched a complete game for Georgia Tech and allowed only one run, four hits, walked five and struck out three in the win.

The Yellow Jackets got on the board in the top of the first inning to go up 1-0 when Kelsi Weseman hit a RBI single to score Ashley Thomas. Tennessee-Martin tied the game in the bottom of the third with the only run of the game on a RBI double by Jenny Bain.

Georgia Tech would go up for good in the fifth inning by scoring a pair of runs, and then in the top of the seventh they knocked around starting pitcher Chelsea Jones by giving up six runs.

With the win, Georgia Tech now takes on South Alabama Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET with the winner getting to take on Alabama on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.
